An Opportunity to Serve as Trustee of a charity for Ethnic Minority Communities in Devon                October 2021

Ubuntu Devon

Ubuntu Counselling Services Ltd is on its way to becoming a charity, including multicultural counselling for Devon, and taking on a wider remit.  We have extended our role to include:

  • Bringing communities together;
  • Improving health and well-being;
  • Developing advocacy and mentoring services;
  • Facilitating links between our communities and statutory services;
  • Providing Training where appropriate

Forming a charity gives us an umbrella organisation within which we can continue to develop our role and services for ethnic minority communities in Devon.

To this end, we are recruiting new directors to our board. In order to serve our communities effectively, we seek to attract as wide a range of skills, interests and ethnicities to the Board as we can. Directors have the power to give guidance and oversight of the organisation’s activities and to influence future direction. They are a crucial support for the Chief Executive/Manager and are an essential critical friend, to ensure that we maintain transparency in our dealings and observe best practice. Training will be given and we welcome all levels of experience.
